The responsibility for collecting the quarterly financial data of municipalities and joint municipal authorities was transferred from Statistics Finland to the State Treasury at the start of 2021. The first actual data on quarterly reported local government finances are now available on the State Treasury’s Exploreadministration.fi service.
Currently, the Exploreadministration.fi service contains municipalities’ and joint municipal authorities’ budget and financial plan data from 2020 onwards and unit-specific quarterly actual data from 2021 onwards. National quarterly data will be published on the service in June 2021.
The service will be further expanded as the forecasts of the financial statements of municipalities and joint municipal authorities will be published for the first time in August 2021. In spring 2022, the annual financial statements of municipalities and joint municipal authorities will also be added to the service, supplemented with service category-specific financial data.
