The on-budget economy has continued to balance. At the end of July 2022, the 12-month moving total deficit is EUR 5.5 billion. The on-budget economy was last more balanced in April 2020, when the 12-month moving deficit was EUR 4.3 billion. The deepest 12-month moving total deficit was 19.3 billion euros in March 2021.
