Cumulative accumulation of payment transfer expenses totalled EUR 14,334 million at the end of March 2021, which was 11% higher year on year. In the period January-March 2021, cumulative accumulation of payment transfer expenses was EUR 1,372 million higher than the corresponding figure at the end of March 2020.
The biggest increases were recorded in the accumulation of payment transfer expenses to social security funds (EUR 692 million), business sector (EUR 251 million), local government (EUR 179 million) and European Union institutions and other bodies (EUR 177 million).
